About Hall, Montana

Hall is an unincorporated community of 51 people in Granite County, Montana, on Montana Highway 1 about 6.2 miles west-southwest of Drummond. It was first known as Hall's Crossing, and the Northern Pacific Railroad laid a branch line through here in 1877.

  • Halfway between two townsThe Northern Pacific's spur from Drummond to Philipsburg ran down the middle of the valley. Hall sat at the halfway stop between those two larger towns on the line.
  • A bank turned post officeHall's old town bank building took on a new job as the community's post office. It was already the post office in 1984, and it kept that role in later years. Mail here goes to ZIP code 59837.
