From the Federal Writers' Project: "JENNINGS LODGE, 16.9 m., a suburban community, was named for Berryman Jennings, a pioneer of 1847 and receiver for the Oregon City Land Office under President Buchanan. It is the home of W. L. Finley, the naturalist."
