About Mifflin, Columbia County, Pennsylvania

  • Wide StreetsMarket and Third streets were each planned at 132 feet wide, with one acre at their crossing reserved for public buildings.
  • Township EstablishedMifflin Township was formed in 1799, during Thomas Mifflin's term as governor.
  • Family Names EndureThe early family names Aten and Kirkendall remain visible today in Aten Road and Kirkendal Road.
