About North Rose, New York
North Rose was first known as Lamb's Corners. It took that name from the Lamb family, who settled the site at an early day. The village owed its growth mainly to the railroad. The line gave it a station and awakened many new business interests.
Old residents knew North Rose as Lamb's Corners. Until the 1870s, the Aldrich and Briggs families raised crops where its houses, stores and shops later stood. The whole village was built on land those families once owned. It grew up after the railroad located a station there.
