About Old Fort, North Carolina
Settlers built Davidson's Fort during the Revolutionary War on land owned by George and Samuel Davidson. The stockade was the westernmost colonial outpost and supported military expeditions.
In 1984 the town started free Mountain Music concerts on Friday nights in the historic Rockett Building downtown. The shows drew large crowds and many musicians. They ran for 27 years before ending in 2014.
