Geography Worth Displaying
This map was created using accurate cartographic data and authoritative geographic sources, including the U.S. Geological Survey and the Census Bureau. The map brings together terrain, waterways, roads, and building detail. The majority of the streets are labeled, houses are accurately depicted, and the topography is derived from government sources. Combining local data with carefully composed color and shading leads to this beautifully detailed Orient artwork for your wall.
Rather than simply showing street outlines, we’ve included as many of the street names as we could reasonably fit on the map while keeping their names legible. Zoom in on the high resolution preview to see exactly what’s on the map. We truly set out to create a statement piece for anyone who loves Orient. So whether it’s for you, or a gift for someone you love, we hope this map of Orient brings back fond memories.

About Orient, Ohio
Orient is a community of 246 people in Pickaway County, Ohio. It grew up around a Baltimore and Ohio Railroad station in the northwest corner of Scioto Township, and the trains shaped the place from its start.
Orient governed itself as a village until its residents voted to give up that status in 2013, and it is now a census-designated place. Two prisons stand here: the Correctional Reception Center and the Pickaway Correctional Institution.
“Morgan’s station or Orient had the first suburban railroad in Pickaway County.”
- A tall trestle and deep wellsThe 1906 county history said Orient had the second highest railroad trestle in Ohio. It also counted three artesian wells in the village, and one of them went down 1,900 feet.
- Dissolved by vote in 2013Residents began working to end the village in January 2012. Their first petition carried thirty-three signatures, one more than Ohio law required to reach the ballot, but the county board of elections threw it out because it held more names than the circulator had certified. A second petition put the question to voters in May 2013, and they chose dissolution, 38 to 30.
