About Park Hills, Kentucky

Park Hills is a city of 3,162 people in Kenton County, on the western edge of Covington and 2.5 miles from downtown Cincinnati. Its land was divided into lots and settled around 1845, when it belonged to three men named Coran, Corry and Spencer, but for decades the settlement stayed small.

That changed in 1926, when D. Collins Lee and Robert Simmons took up the land and developed it into a residential suburb. They incorporated Park Hills as a city the following year, and today it is a home rule-class city covering 0.8 square miles.

  • Named for Devou ParkThe city takes its name from where it sits, on high ground looking out over Devou Park on the west side of Covington.
  • Two Catholic schoolsCovington Catholic High School, a school for boys, and Notre Dame Academy, a school for girls, both stand in Park Hills. The Diocese of Covington runs them through its Department of Catholic Schools.
