About Plainville, Ohio
Plainville was once the rail stop for the hilltop village of Mount Washington. Its people rode an omnibus down to the Little Miami railroad at Plainville. There they caught the train into the city. That changed in 1878, when a narrow-gauge line opened a station closer to their village.
- The old bridge linkIn 1881 a wagon bridge crossed the river at Plainville. The citizens of Newtown paid for a plank sidewalk that linked the bridge to their village.
