About Vickery, Ohio

Robert Vickery laid out the village in 1881, and it was named for him. A post office opened that same year. It has stayed in operation at Vickery ever since.

Aaron Smart was a farmer who also owned a lumber mill in Townsend township. By 1896 he had worked there for thirty years. Much of the growth of the village of Vickery was credited to his hard work and forward thinking.
