About West Manheim, Pennsylvania
From the York Town Square: "At one point, nine cigar factories operated in the township. Penn State York’s John Latzko has produced maps that show that Manheim, which included future West Manheim in 1810, was among the county’s leaders in stills (more than 60), mills and population density."
From the History of York County: "West Manheim Township was formed out of Manheim in the year 1858. It lies in the extreme southwestern part of York County, bordering Maryland on the south and Adams County on the west."
