About Feasterville, Pennsylvania

Feasterville is a community of 3,066 people in Lower Southampton Township, Bucks County. It was once counted with its neighbor as Feasterville-Trevose, until the census split them into two separate places. Around 1730 John Feaster and his wife Rachel came over from Holland and settled in nearby Northampton Township, on land William Penn had granted to John.

Their grandson Aaron, born in 1772, inherited that Northampton farm and also held land close to the Buck Hotel. A small crossroads hamlet grew up around that corner, and it would take its name from him.

  • Named for Aaron FeasterIn those days a new hamlet usually took the name of whoever ran its post office. The first post office here stood across the corner from the Buck Hotel, but when the time came to choose a name, the residents passed over the postmaster and honored Aaron Feaster instead.
  • The Buck HotelStagecoaches made stopovers at the Buck Hotel, and on election days local voters cast their ballots there. Aaron Feaster's land lay close by, and the first post office faced the hotel from the opposite corner.
  • Two schools joined in 2012In 2012 Feasterville's Assumption B.V.M. Catholic School and St. Bede the Venerable School in Holland combined into one, St. Katharine Drexel Regional Catholic School, which now serves as the area's Catholic grade school.
