About Mangonia Park, Florida

Mangonia Park is a town of 2,142 people in north central Palm Beach County, covering 0.7 square miles. Its founders set it up in 1947 and asked the State of Florida to charter it as the Town of Magnolia Park. Florida granted the charter but sent back a different name. Another town already held Magnolia Park, a note explained, so the state chose a close match, and it suited a district where farms had raised mangoes from the early 1900s until the 1930s.

  • Tri-Rail's last stop since 1996Tri-Rail reached Mangonia Park on October 28, 1996, when a station opened on track once owned by the Seaboard Air Line Railroad. It was the first station the community ever had, and it became the northern end of the commuter line, with two side platforms and 273 parking spaces. Palm Tran routes 20, 31 and 33 connect it to downtown West Palm Beach, Cross County Plaza, the VA Medical Center and The Gardens Mall.
  • One Amtrak train a yearEach January, school safety patrol students from across Palm Beach County board a chartered Amtrak train at Mangonia Park for their annual trip to Washington, D.C. It's the one day of the year that Amtrak stops in town.
