About Sheridan, Colorado
From the Sheridan Historical Society: "The post had no name officially, being called Sheridan Post or Fort Sheridan by the locals. General Sheridan was offered the honor of having the post named after him, but declined, choosing instead to have a fort near Chicago bear his name."
