About Wayne, New York
Wayne occupies northeastern Steuben County, with boundaries adjoining Yates and Schuyler counties. Europeans settled the area around 1791, and the town was organized as Frederickstown in 1796 before receiving its present name in 1808. Wayne includes communities along both Keuka Lake and Waneta Lake.
