About Billings, Missouri
Billings is a city in Christian County and part of the Springfield metropolitan area. Its post office began operating in 1871, and the community was platted the following year. The 2020 census recorded 1,084 residents across 0.89 square miles, all of it land.
- Railroad ArrivalBy 1871, the St. Louis and San Francisco railway had extended its line to the site that became Billings.
- Early Postal ServiceA Billings post office has operated since 1871, one year before the community was platted.
- Basketball ChampionshipBillings High School won Missouri's Class 2A boys basketball state championship in 2012.
