About Fayetteville, New York

Fayetteville takes its name from the Marquis de Lafayette, honored as a hero in both France and the United States. Settlers first came in 1792. The community became an incorporated village in 1844.

In 1900, brothers Leopold and John George Stickley bought the Collin, Sisson and Pratt furniture factory and founded their own firm in Fayetteville. L. and J.G. Stickley made furniture in the village for 85 years. It moved to nearby Manlius in 1985.
