About Four Lakes, Washington
Four Lakes is a town north of Cheney in Spokane County. The region around it had four lakes. Pioneer W. F. Bassett called it the Four Lakes Country, and the town took that name. Bassett lived in Spokane Falls in 1870 and 1871, then moved to a farm near Cheney.
