About Mendon, Massachusetts

Pioneers from Braintree arrived in 1662 to take up a grant of land 8 miles square, bought from the Nipmuc. The town became official five years later, in 1667. Settlers cleared roads right away, and those early routes shaped Mendon for the centuries that followed.
