About North Star, Delaware
North Star is a community of 8,056 people in New Castle County, Delaware, covering 6.8 square miles of land. Inside its bounds are the Chinese American Community Center and Woodside Farm Creamery, and since 1931 its schools have passed from one district to another several times.

- School District 30 until 1931North Star once ran its own schools as North Star School District 30. On August 7, 1931, it became part of the Alexis I. DuPont Special School District. On July 1, 1969, that district was reorganized and renamed the Alexis I. DuPont School District.
- Split between two districts in 1981In 1978 the Alexis I. DuPont district joined the New Castle County School District. In 1981 that larger district was broken into four, and North Star ended up in two of them, Red Clay Consolidated and Christina. Children on the Red Clay side attend North Star Elementary and H. B. duPont Middle School, while those on the Christina side go to Maclary Elementary, Shue/Medill Middle and Newark High School.
